Experience
I have been working as a tutor since I was fifteen. I have experience with children between the ages of four and sixteen. My most memorable experience came when I spent several months working with a shy student who struggled in writing and reading. At the end of our time together she was able to write a story with very little help. I was proud of her achievement. The experience taught me that students are able to excel in learning environments where the teacher and student are both invested in the process.I specialize in college essays, English, elementary math, essay editing, grammar and mechanics, phonics, and writing. I am the most passionate about working with grammar and mechanics because they are the building blocks for many other things in life. I am capable of teaching these subjects in exciting and creative manners. I believe that the student's growth is the most important aspect of tutoring. When a student realizes the growth and progress in their learning, they become accomplished learners and there is no better feeling.I earned my B.S. at Towson University in Family and Human Services, with emphasis on Services to Child and Youth. Soon, I will be graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with my M.Ed. in Literacy.I like to give back to my community when I have spare time. I also enjoy reading, working on art, watching movies or sporting events, and listening to music.
